War Machine Digital Sketch
This is my first Youtube video documenting the stages of my illustration of the movie Iron Man 2’s War Machine. I created the sketch using a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet and Adobe Photoshop. The video was put together using Adobe After Effects. I hope to create more pieces of digital art using this software, as I feel it allows a level of detail and precision that is hard to achieve using pencil and paper.
You can find the finished still illustrations here:

Introduction to Digital Art: Wacom Intuos 4
After many years of wanting to develop my art skills and incorporate them into the digital world, I began to search for a tablet for my mac to create more free flowing sketches. After a couple weeks of deliberation I decided to purchase the Wacom Intuos 4. So far it has been a very resourceful tool, experimenting and getting used to the pressure sensitive marks it provides. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to show you guys some cool sketches and drawings I’ve created using it.

My beautiful niece Janae turned one this year, so my Sister wanted me to combine her favourite show ‘Waybuloo’ and her photo into one picture, to print onto her birthday cake. It was fun to create and easy to do, my niece seemed to like it as well :)
Photographs taken on Friday 25th June 2010 of the University of Westminsters D&AD New Blood booth
New Blood showcases the best young design talent across several universities and design courses. It was a great opportunity to meet various people from within the industry, while at the same time quite difficult to explain complex projects within the limited time available to you. I also feel our particular booth did not give individual pieces of work time to communicate in their own right or give the impression that we were more than a digital media course. Many of the more successfully designed universities showcased only the best of their work and allowed direct communication of an idea without further explaining required. With more creative control, guidance and time I feel that our university could have produced a much better level of communication, however that was not the case.
In summary the D&AD is a great idea, opportunity and experience, I just don’t think our university made the most of it. If you get the chance next year attend and enjoy the show.
